Last updated: 13 October 2026
At TopKnot, we believe a great hairbrush should be something you reach for every day and love using for years to come.
Every TopKnot product is thoughtfully designed with quality, performance and longevity in mind.
We hope you love your purchase. However, if something isn't quite right, we're here to help.
1. Change-of-Mind Returns
Please choose your TopKnot products carefully.
We do not offer refunds or exchanges for change-of-mind purchases.
This includes situations where:
-
You have ordered the wrong product or colour.
-
You no longer want or need the product.
-
You have changed your mind after purchasing.
-
You have found the product available elsewhere at a lower price.
-
The product does not meet a personal preference that was not represented or guaranteed by TopKnot.
This policy applies only to change-of-mind purchases.
Your rights under Australian Consumer Law remain unaffected.
2. Faulty or Damaged Products
We take pride in the quality of our products and want every TopKnot purchase to arrive in excellent condition.
If your product arrives damaged, is faulty, is not as described or otherwise fails to meet applicable consumer guarantees, please contact us.
Email: hello@topknot.com.au
Where possible, please include:
-
Your order number.
-
A brief description of the issue.
-
Photographs of the product or packaging, if relevant.
We'll review your enquiry and work with you to find an appropriate resolution.
We may request additional information where reasonably necessary to assess the issue.
You do not need to retain the original packaging to exercise your rights under Australian Consumer Law.
3. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer Law
Our products come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under Australian Consumer Law.
These guarantees include that products must:
-
Be of acceptable quality.
-
Be safe and durable.
-
Be fit for their intended purpose.
-
Match their description.
-
Match any applicable sample or demonstration model.
-
Meet any express warranties or representations made about them.
If a product fails to meet these guarantees, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, refund or other remedy, depending on the circumstances.
Major Failures
If a product has a major failure under Australian Consumer Law, you are generally entitled to choose between a refund or replacement.
You may also be entitled to compensation for reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
Minor Failures
If a product has a minor failure, TopKnot may choose to provide an appropriate remedy, such as a repair, replacement or refund, within a reasonable time.
If the issue is not resolved within a reasonable time, you may become entitled to additional remedies.
We will assess each claim in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
4. Incorrect Products or Missing Items
If you've received the wrong product or an item is missing from your order, please contact us at:
hello@topknot.com.au
Where possible, please provide your order number and a description of the issue.
We'll investigate and arrange an appropriate resolution, including supplying the correct or missing item or providing another remedy required by law.
Where a return is necessary because of an error made by TopKnot, we will cover reasonable return shipping costs.
5. How to Request a Return
If you believe your product is faulty, damaged, incorrectly supplied or otherwise does not meet applicable consumer guarantees, please follow these steps.
Step 1: Contact Us
Email hello@topknot.com.au with your order number and a description of the issue.
Step 2: We'll Review Your Request
Our team will review the information provided and may ask for further details or photographs to help assess the issue.
Step 3: Return Arrangements
If the product needs to be returned for inspection or another appropriate purpose, we'll provide instructions.
Please do not send products to our business address without contacting us first, as we may need to arrange an alternative return location.
Step 4: Resolution
Once we've assessed the issue, we'll arrange the remedy required under Australian Consumer Law.
This may include a repair, replacement, refund or another appropriate resolution.
6. Return Shipping Costs
Where a product fails to meet Australian Consumer Law guarantees, TopKnot will cover or reimburse reasonable return shipping costs where required by law.
For larger, heavier or difficult-to-return products, we will make any collection arrangements required under Australian Consumer Law.
We do not accept change-of-mind returns, so return shipping arrangements for change-of-mind purchases are not available.
7. Refund Processing
Where a refund is approved or required under Australian Consumer Law, we'll process it as promptly as reasonably possible.
Refunds will generally be issued to the original payment method used at checkout, unless another method is agreed or required by law.
The time taken for funds to appear in your account may vary depending on your bank or payment provider.
Where a full refund is required under Australian Consumer Law, we will refund the amount required by law, including any applicable delivery charges.
8. Exchanges and Replacements
We do not offer exchanges for change-of-mind purchases.
Where a replacement is required or chosen under Australian Consumer Law, we'll arrange to supply the appropriate replacement product at no additional cost.
If the original product is no longer available, we'll discuss the remedies available under Australian Consumer Law.
9. Product Care and Normal Wear
TopKnot hairbrushes are designed for regular use when cared for in accordance with the applicable product instructions.
Damage caused solely by misuse, accidental damage or improper care may not constitute a failure to meet consumer guarantees.
However, normal wear and tear does not automatically exclude a product from consumer guarantee protection.
A product must be reasonably durable, taking into account its nature, price, representations made about it and other relevant circumstances.
We assess concerns about product quality and durability individually and in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.
10. Manufacturer's Warranty
TopKnot does not currently offer a separate voluntary manufacturer's warranty.
However, all products are covered by applicable consumer guarantees under Australian Consumer Law.
These statutory guarantees apply independently of any manufacturer's warranty and are not limited to a fixed 12-month period.
The period during which a product can reasonably be expected to meet consumer guarantees depends on its nature, price, intended use and other relevant circumstances.
11. Gifts
If you've received a TopKnot product as a gift and believe it is faulty or otherwise does not meet consumer guarantees, please contact us.
We'll assist you in identifying the purchase and determining the appropriate remedy.
Proof of purchase may be requested where reasonably necessary, but an original receipt is not the only acceptable form of proof.
12. Wholesale Purchases
This Returns & Refunds Policy applies to retail purchases made through the TopKnot online store.
Purchases made through approved wholesale accounts may be subject to separate Wholesale Terms & Conditions.
Nothing in those terms excludes any rights or remedies that apply to eligible business purchases under Australian Consumer Law.
13. Contact Us
If you have any questions about a return, refund or product concern, please get in touch.
